Liz Schaeffer, RMT, BA

Liz was inspired to become a massage therapist while working as a theatre technician for Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Ballet British Columbia.  She witnessed the effectiveness and necessity of Massage Therapy for ballet dancers, which opened her eyes to a change of career.  Liz graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2002.

In her practice, Liz uses deep tissue massage and myofascial treatments to increase mobility and relieve pain in patients with chronic injury.  Generally using firm to deep pressure, her techniques and areas of expertise also include swedish massage, trigger point massage, joint mobilizations, muscle energy, athletic treatments, and orthopaedics. She is well versed in treating patients with tension headaches, pregnancy pains, arthritis, low back pain, sports injury and pain related to work and stress. Most recently, Liz has completed training in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).

You can find Liz in her downtime camping in her Westfalia, at the rink playing ringette, hitting the tennis ball or walking her Jack Russel Terrier named Scout.
