Karen Docksteader, RMT
Hi, Karen here. My journey as an RMT, Registered Massage Therapist in Vancouver, spans over two decades: I originally graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in December, 1996. But prior to sitting my board exams, I suffered some personal tragedies that left me completely blind. As a result, I had to learn to live again. Bodywork helped me do this. After coming to terms with my blindness and doing some upgrading, I successfully passed the formal RMT board exams in 2016.
I love what I do. One of the things I love most about massage therapy is helping my patients achieve their health goals by bringing them back to normal function.
Having worked as a bodyworker for more than 20 years, I have developed a broad tool kit in physical medicine. The various modalities I use work together to help me restore normal function for my patients.
I incorporate the following modalities into my practice: Cranial Sacral Therapy, Swedish massage, Neuro-meningeal manipulation, Somato-emotional release, Fascial release therapy and Trigger point therapy.
