How’s your posture? How a Vancouver RMT can help.

Broadway Wellness Article of the Week: How’s your posture? How a Vancouver RMT can help. I write this sitting at my desk with a perfectly erect spine, feet flat on the floor, shoulders held back comfortably with a gaze on my face much like a Hollywood actor on the red carpet just daring the photographers to catch me slouching – said no one ever.
Posture. Let’s face it, we spend a lot of time on our computers for work, scheduling family activities, and all the things we like to do between working and scheduling family activities like buying stuff and watching hilarious videos on YouTube (seriously, wait for the end). Let’s not even start with smart phone use.
Time spent hunched over screens isn’t going away any time soon, and although we have sticky notes literally pasted around the perimeter of our computer monitors reminding us to ‘SIT UP!’, it’ll eventually get to us, and the perils of bad posture will take it’s toll. Bad posture will put a strain on our physical health which we all know will lead to strain on our mental health too, which can lead to more time wasted watching videos on YouTube.
Studies. Studies have shown that poor posture can have serious consequences on our health, but as we descend in to this abyss of poor form, there is help available. A qualified Vancouver RMT (Registered Massage Therapist) can greatly help you relieve tension held in your neck and shoulders through a variety of therapeutic techniques. They can also coach you toward maintaining some helpful habits to promote good posture for when you’re spending time in front of the computer. Take just a moment of that time to visit Broadway Massage and Therapy, and choose a treatment from one or more of their qualified practitioners trained to help you bring a little vertical back to your form.
