Get Your Smoothie On

While summer’s in full swing and you’re busy trying to squeeze every last minute out of these long days, you need energy to make this short season a memorable one.  If you want to save time, stay hydrated, and increase stamina,  you can be blending up a mix of fresh fruits and vegetables…  AKA a Smoothie.

A healthy smoothie is made with nutrient dense ingredients that provide vitamins and oils necessary for complete nutrition, and dietary fat to aid the body with vitamin intake.  Add a banana and an avocado for a great combination of nutrients and healthy fats, and get valuable hydration as your body pulls water from many other foods like berries and apples.  Many fruits are high in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals and can add an energy boost to your day.  Try coconut oil or shredded coconut for a tasty addition.  Leafy greens like spinach and kale are equally at home in a healthy, balanced smoothie.
