Why Do We Crave?

Throughout the day, most of us will tend to experience a craving at one point or another. At different times in the day, it can be different things that we crave. Why does this happen? You may not even have a sweet tooth and all the sudden you are craving a good dose of chocolate.

Cravings are another way our body tries to communicate to us that there is an imbalance. We don’t crave cookies because that will provide the nutrients that we’re lacking, it is more of a signal. So, most times when we give in to a craving we’re not left with a sense of total satisfaction. The most common cause of cravings is dehydration which often manifests itself as hunger. Next time you experience a craving, opt for a big glass of water, then wait a couple of minutes and see  how you feel.
