Chemical Stress

It’s safe to say that whatever is happening in your life in regards to your body, health, and lifestyle, is in some way affected by stress.  To help understand this concept one needs to expand on their interpretation of the word stress.

The word stress is most commonly used to describe emotional stress – the feelings of worry, fear, and anxiousness that come along with life’s daily gauntlet of work, family, and relationships.  There’s no doubt that this kind of stress, if negative, has a significant impact on your body and health.  But it’s important to understand that stress potentially comes in a trio of stressors from different origins that affect us in different ways.  These three kinds of stressors are described as Physical, Emotional, and Chemical.

We are exposed to chemical stress almost every moment as there’s often harmful toxins in our food, air, and water.  These toxins can overwhelm our bodies causing pain and discomfort and if left unchecked can cause serious and even life threatening illnesses.  With an understanding of where harmful chemicals are concentrated we can navigate our daily lives with the least amount of exposure to them.  As well, maintaining optimum health is the key to arming our bodies with the ability to absorb the nutrients we require and eliminate the toxins that inevitably make it in to our systems.
