Dr. Cseszko has been practicing Naturopathic Medicine since 2004 and is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia. Dr. Cseszko completed his pre-med program at the University of New Brunswick, after which he furthered his studies in science as a chemistry major. In 2000, Dr. Cseszko went on to continue his medical studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario.
Over the years, Dr. Cseszko has furthered his training in Acupuncture, Homeopathy, I.V. Therapy, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Applied Kinesiology, Korean Hand Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique and Bowen Therapy. Dr. Cseszko shares his insight and knowledge with future generations of Naturopathic Doctors by serving as a mentor and supervisor to students at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver.
DIGESTIVE DISORDERS Dr. Cseszko was himself a Crohn’s disease patient (major inflammation of the intestines), and it was Naturopathic Medicine that ended up saving his intestines from surgical intervention. Having seen both sides of the coin, as a doctor and patient, Dr. Cseszko has a unique understanding of digestive/bowel diseases. He treats Crohn’s, Colitis, IBS, Celiacs, “leaky-gut syndrome”, Candidiasis, Peptic Ulcer disease, food allergies and more.
ANXIETY & DEPRESSION Depression and anxiety are serious and growing concerns, and antidepressants have fast become one of the top prescribed medications in North America. Dr. Cseszko has dedicated a large portion of his practice to providing natural alternatives and complementary care to these growing problems. He sees numerous cases in his practice and stands by his findings that Naturopathic Medicine has a strong place in the treatment of these conditions.
CHILDREN’S HEALTH Dr. Cseszko’s appreciation for working with children began as a kindergarten teacher. He has dedicated a large portion of his practice to children’s health and wellness, and over a third of his current patients are children. Dr. Cseszko specializes in immune care, skin diseases, infections and bowel health. He takes a very gentle approach with children and believes that a few simple dietary changes and nutritional advice can go a long way.
OTHER Dr. Cseszko treats all conditions, helping people remove obstacles to health while promoting a healthy lifestyle. He has seen a variety of health concerns ranging from minor fatigue to terminal cancer, including: weight loss, PMS/Menopause, Lymes disease and other infections, skin issues (eczema, psoriasis and acne) immune care, musculoskeletal injury/rehab, sports medicine, and headaches/migraines.
Dr. Cseszko is extremely proficient at using a refined, unique, and very advanced set of assessment tools, including a highly developed system of applied kinesiology. This enables him to provide each patient with an individualized treatment plan that is efficient, gentle, affordable and effective. The initial visit is typically an hour, where the results of the tests and physical examination are discussed in the same appointment. The cost for the intake, assessment tools and physical examination are all included in the initial visit fee.
Follow Up Visits
Follow ups are strategic visits scheduled after the commencement of the treatment plan to ensure a patient’s individualized health plan is moving efficiently and effectively. They are typically fifteen to thirty minutes, spaced three to six weeks after the commencement of the treatment plan, unless the patient has specific needs (Acupuncture, Bowen Therapy, Vitamin injections etc.)
Patients are assessed and diagnosed with both conventional and naturopathic methods. This thorough and integrated approach allows a greater understanding of the underlying cause of disease and provides effective and appropriate treatment options.
HEALTH AND MEDICAL HISTORY An intake form will be used to assess your health concerns, health history, current stressors and any other factors that may be related to your specific case.
NUTRITIONAL ANALYSIS Nutrition is one of the foundations to optimal health and will be assessed through diet diaries, blood testing and careful examination of individual needs.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS Naturopathic Doctors are thoroughly trained in performing complete physical exams. Relevant physical exams are performed to illicit further information.
BIOLOGICAL RESPONSE TESTING A feedback technique measuring tissue response where numerous points of contact over the body are established. This testing allows Dr. Cseszko to assess the body for physical dysfunction/trauma, emotional discourse or general imbalance held within the body’s tissue.
BIO-IMPEDANCE ASSESSMENT (BIA) BIA is a non-invasive testing procedure that measures such things as body composition, metabolic rate and tissue hydration. It is an excellent tool for monitoring treatments involving weight loss, exercise, chronic illness and overall progress to your specialized treatment program.
CHINESE PULSE AND TONGUE DIAGNOSIS These ancient diagnostic techniques provide further insight into the functioning of the body.
LABORATORY TESTING Depending on symptoms, specific laboratory tests such as standard blood work, salivary testing or imaging may be requested. The costs for these tests will not be included in the initial visit fee.
In addition to being a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Cseszko has been a licensed Acupuncturist for over 13 years. He has performed over 15,000 acupuncture appointments and is registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners & Acupuncturists of BC. He is one of the few practitioners in BC to hold registration in both fields, which is a great asset to those patients with extended health benefits as it allows for a continuity of treatment that is often covered by insurance.
His combined training in Acupuncture, Naturopathic Medicine and Bowen Therapy enables him to see the body from multiple view points and employ a variety of techniques in an acupuncture session while tailoring a treatment plan that is individualized to each patient. He has created a very minimalistic and gentle technique that even the most sensitive acupuncture patients can enjoy.
Dr. Cseszko has extensive experience treating the following with acupuncture: headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, nausea, anxiety, depression, motor vehicle accident rehabilitation, general body aches and pains, insomnia, children’s health issues, chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia, chronic pain, autoimmune conditions and Lyme disease.
